It could be a bit tricky to compare the iPhone 4 to the iPod Touch 4. Many who are not familiar with their features seem to agree that both gadgets are almost identical but actuality they are not. Some go even further by saying that the iPod is like the iPhone devoid of its phone parts. Not just quite, as there are many differences if you decide to study and analyze both gadgets closely.

The iPhone is almost magical to say the least for most people. Its features are imitated by the iPod so that it would appear as a cool and exciting gadget. This would then get more people interested in buying them.

Comparisons for the two gadgets can go this way:

The iPhone is obviously a phone while the iPod is an MP3 player.

There is obvious difference in design and size as the iPhone is bigger than the iPod.

Touch screen display: iPhone =  IPS technology      iPod Touch =  non-IPS technology
Size of Battery: iPhone =  5.25W/Hour    iPod Touch=  3.44W/Hour
Storage: iPhone =   16/32GB     iPod Touch= 8/32/64GB
Back Camera: iPhone =  5-megapixel    iPod Touch=0.7-megapixel
Calling Alert: iPhone =   Ringtone and Vibration   iPod Touch=  No vibration for face time

Both of these gadgets are like two effective mini-computers that can do many things such as playing games, music and video capabilities, video calls, video recording, photo taking and many other applications.

The features are a bit overwhelming but you can now spot the difference between the two gadgets. It looks like the iPhone has more technology in it compared to the iPod. The additional technology of the iPhone includes GPS, cellular signal and a network contract which is an important requirement to buy an iPhone. These are lacking in the iPod. In addition, the iPhone is more expensive than the iPod due to its outstanding features.

Nonetheless, an iPod is a good gadget for kids and for those who are not so techno savvy. If you want to save on costs and you don’t need a full scale mobile computer and phone with a network contract, then the iPod is an ideal choice for you.

However, if you can afford to spend for the ultimate, modern and most convenient gadget, then go ahead and buy the iPhone. It could be worth it if it fits the right kind of life style you have either at work or while playing.

In line with buying any of these gadgets, it would be wise to get updates on the models especially during summer. This would help you keep track of new models and compare prices and features. This would also keep you aware of buying models that would become obsolete in just a few months of purchasing. It would then be an advantage to wait for a while before deciding to buy any new models of the iPhone or iPod.

Overall, the iPod and iPhone are both useful in their own ways. Their usefulness depends on the user and how these gadgets can fit the everyday activities.
